Partnership 4 Hope is a mentoring program we started in April of 2017.  Our mission is to provide mentoring support for Young Adult Former Foster Youth on their journey towards independence.  As these young adults “age out” or turn 19, they begin to lose services and support available to them while trying to figure out how to live on their own and support themselves.                                                                                                                                              Moving into an apartment or house for the first time can be daunting, especially without furniture or many belongings.  These young adults can acquire free items for their first apartment at the Youth Mart located at the Omaha Home for Boys.  The Youth Mart is a collaborative facility supported by 12 Omaha area agencies who work with former foster youth.  A group of men from area churches started the Truck Brigade at the Youth Mart.   The men deliver larger items that the youth often aren’t able to transport on their own. During these deliveries, volunteers share with them a Pantry of food from Together Inc. and also present to them the opportunity of  joining Partnership 4 Hope.  Youth that are interested  then start the process of being matched with their new mentor.

We  actively recruit potential mentors from the community.  We are training these individuals with the skills to become successful mentors and have a number of youth already matched.   If you feel so led, please give mentoring a YAFFY (Young Adult Former Foster Youth) serious consideration.  You will receive good training and support from the Partnership 4 Hope Board of Directors. We invite you to become a part of Partnership 4 Hope, a mentoring program that fosters  independence.
