Here at Westwood Church, we make the first Sunday of every month a special Sunday, a Family First Sunday.  Family First Sundays are an opportunity for the families of Westwood Church to worship together.

On Family First Sundays Westwood doesn’t offer Sunday School or children specific worship groups for kids from kindergarten and up, but instead gives whole families an opportunity to attend worship together at our 8:30, 9:45 or 11:00 services.  Research tells us that almost nothing has more spiritual impact on a child or a teenager than being a part of an all-church worship service.  While we believe in our Sunday school and kids worship ministries, we also want to give families some carefully carved out space to worship together.

So, since we want families to worship together on Family First Sundays,  all three worship services (8:30, 9:45, and 11:00) will be more geared toward the whole family, and again, there will be no Sunday School from Kindergarten on up. Story/Activity Room is still available for preschoolers following the Children’s Message, and Nursery and Blue Rooms (2s & 3s) are available all morning as usual.

And one other thing, and this applies to EVERY SUNDAY but especially to Family First Sundays:

It’s fine if your baby cries or your kid talks too loud or whatever else during worship.  Babies cry, kids talk. It really is okay.  EVERYONE is welcome in worship at Westwood.
