Bluefields, Nicaragua Mission Trip

Bluefields is a place of great need and a lot of opportunities to serve others less fortunate than us. We will be laying cement, scraping and painting tables in the kitchen, repairing fence, repairing the outdoor kitchen we built 3 years ago, and hopefully enlarging the Tabitha foster home for girls! We will also spend time at the children’s kitchen interacting and leading programming with kids, serving lunch daily, and traveling for 1 or 2 nights to villages where we will be sharing the message of Jesus through our words and actions. Bluefields is the site of the “Feed the Children” program which was our VBS mission project last year! We are pleased to be delivering that money to the program!
We are traveling to Bluefields February 8th – 18th , not sure of how God will use us or what circumstances or situations may be opened to us! What we are sure of is that we are going prepared to walk humbly with a God who we love and desire to serve.
- Please pray for our flights to go smoothly and for our luggage to arrive without any problems. We will be flying on Feb 8, 9, 17and 18.
- Pray for our safe travel by boat to the villages surrounding Bluefields and for weather to be calm and free of rain.
- Please pray for our team to remain healthy and for all physical issues to be tolerable.
- Pray for God to use our hands, voice and whole being to be a beacon of light that shares hope, love and the promise of Jesus Christ.
- Pray for our team to grow individually and as a group closer to the Lord through our service and the mission experience.
- Pray for us to trust the Lord no matter what the circumstance, pray for our hearts to be open and our hearts prepared to serve!
- Praise God for Dr. Kelly and Adrian and the mission field that they lead! Pray for all of the programs that they oversee, for their needs, and for the impact of these programs to bless all whom the programs touch!
- Pray for our families while we are away…for good health, calm spirits and peace about our experience in Nicaragua.
We value and appreciate you daily holding us up in prayer to the Lord! We are grateful to be part of a church that embraces mission as a value and priority!

NICARAGUA PASTOR’S CONFERENCE
April 7-11, 2008
It hardly seems like two years but it is time to hold the biannual Pastor’s Conference. We already have over 80 Pastor’s and wives along with 13 midwives registered for the retreat. Dr. Vernon Sterk and his wife Carla, who both teach at Western Theological Seminary will be the main conference speakers speaking on “Remember God’s Mighty Acts in the Difficult Times”. Also, a young Pastor from Trinity Reformed Church in Allison, IA will lead two Worship services and Nelson Hymans will lead devotions for each day. Shorty Brown will lead the closing worship and preach. Shorty and Bishop Omier of the Moravian Church will serve communion in the service. Bishop Omier is with the Moravian church in Nicaragua.
We have these prayer requests for you to use in your prayers:
- Pray for the safety of all those traveling by plane, river boat, driving, and walking to the conference.
- Pray that God’s Holy Spirit will anoint the speakers as they speak.
- Pray that all in attendance will receive what they need from God to help them in their ministries of Word, healing, and caring.
